Frances Mainwaring takes us on a journey through the year that her younger daughter Angie prepares to be married. All Fran wants is to see her elder daughter Sophie more often, a wedding for Angie that doesn’t cost the earth, a renewed freshness to her own marriage, a lick of paint on the old house and time to make plans with Phillip for their empty-nest years.
